General Information

The 2008 AzLA Annual Conference will be held Monday, December 8 through Wednesday, December 10 in Glendale at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel and Spa in the heart of Westgate City Center. The President’s theme for the 2008 AzLA Annual Conference is New Frontiers: Moving into the Future. This theme addresses how libraries will conquer the new frontier of emerging technologies and changing environments while remaining relevant and adapting to fit the needs and desires of our users.

Keynote Speaker

This year's keynote speaker is Sarah Houghton-Jan (a.k.a. LibrarianInBlack), Digital Futures Manager for the San Jose (CA) Public Library. Her keynote, Sustainable Technology in a 2.0 World, will address the new frontier that Web 2.0 has created, presenting strategies for launching new projects in such a way to make sure they work for libraries in the long-term.
